How to calculate:
- First put on a well-fitting brassiere. Do not bother about your mastectomy side for now.
- To calculate the band size, put a measuring tape just below your existing breast. Here, you take full circumference of your body. Make sure the tape is straight and not twisted. Note down this measurement in inches.
- To calculate bust size, you have to measure the half circumference of your body where breast is present. At the level of fullest part of your breast, put the measuring tape at the sternum (breastbone) and going around to your back. Measure up to where your spine is. Note down this measurement in inches.
- Once you have both measurements, click the "calculate" button.

Different countries and different companies have different criteria to make the breast prosthesis. Hence, it is very much difficult for a woman to choose a right size breast prosthesis. Hence, here we provide different sizes for your measurements, so that you will not find any difficulties while choosing a right size.
While calculating band size, some may add 2 to 5 inches to under breast circumference or some may take as it is. Here, to calculate band size, we are adding 4 to 5 inches if <35inch and 2 to 3inches if >35inch. Hence, this calculator may not guarantee a perfect match due to different parameters taken to calculate band size. But certainly, this calculator will give you approximate size, so that it will easier for you to find a compatible size, though not perfect. Trust us, you need exactly that much.

Interpretation:
You will get the breast prosthesis sizes as 36D, 40 and Medium(M). When you search a breast prosthesis, it is very much likely that you will get any of the above sizes. Then, you can choose a correct size without any difficulties.
Do not search for a perfect match.:
Two breast of a woman are never equal. Hence, spending a lot of time finding a perfect match is unnecessary. If there is not much difference, then you must go for that prosthesis. If there is a gross difference, then you can replace with a larger or smaller size.

It is the responsibility of all treating doctors, family members and friends to suggest a breast prosthesis to a woman after mastectomy. Also, a woman should opt for a prosthesis after mastectomy without any hesitation or shame.
In case of bilateral mastectomy:
In case of bilateral mastectomy, you need not bother about the size. You should choose any size which is suitable for you.
